About CSF

Children’s Scholarship Fund expands educational opportunity for low-income families. We work with community partners to provide tuition assistance to help less advantaged children gain access to the elementary and secondary schools of their choice, whether public or private, religious or non-religious.

Children’s Scholarship Fund is a national, non-profit organization established by entrepreneurs Ted Forstmann and John Walton.

CSF’s presence in Charlotte, NC is a direct result of generous contribution by Mr. Julian Robertson, Jr.  Mr. Robertson is co-founder of Tiger Management LLC and past Chairman and CEO of Webster Management Corporation.  He is a member of the National Board of Advisors for Children’s Scholarship Fund.

Nearly 40,000 low-income children in communities nationwide receive tuition assistance.  Because parental involvement is key to educational success, parents of scholarship children must pay a portion of the tuition.

Children’s Scholarship Fund hopes to forge a new tradition of charitable giving by establishing strong, locally supported scholarship programs.  Children in over 40 cities across the United States receive tuition assistance provided by the organization.

Children’s Scholarship Fund in Charlotte, NC (CSF-Charlotte) must maintain strong relations with the local community.  A local board of directors and advisory board are being formed.  Funds for scholarships and administrative costs must be raised from the community to assure the long-term success of the program.

Today over 400 children in Charlotte, NC receive tuition assistance from CSF-Charlotte.  This is over 400 children who’s educational opportunities have been enhanced because of the forethought and generosity of others.
