General Information
- Since 1999, CSF-C has granted 4,750 scholarships and extended over $6.5M in funding
- CSF-C is the LARGEST provider of elementary/middle school scholarships in North Carolina
- CSF-C is the ONLY provider of elementary/middle school scholarships in Mecklenburg County
- Applicants’ families must meet the following criteria:
- Families must live in Charlotte or Mecklenburg County
- Child must be attending K-8th grade during the year of funding
- Families must qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Meal Program
- In order to maintain enrollment at 400, approximately 150 additional recipients will be selected every year through a random lottery administered by the Foundation For The Carolinas (FFTC)
- Scholarship amounts are determined by the family’s size and income, and the school’s tuition amount; maximum award is $2,500 per child
Family Information
- Each family is required to annually contribute $500 toward their child’s education
- Each family/child must re-qualify each year to continue funding
- Average family’s gross income: $29,311 (-7.9% decrease from last year)
- Average tuition per child: $5,670 (.5% increase from last year)
- Average “award” per child: $1,793
- Average family payment over the “award”: $2,813
